I’ve discovered a platform called Patreon where creative people are supported by patrons. It’s a cool idea - something that happened a lot more a few hundred years ago.
In order to attract patrons, of course, the creative person needs to offer something of interest or value. What I was thinking was that I would workshop a poem once a week - I’ll read the poem on video, give comments, then post it for other patreons to workshop.
One of my goals with Patreon is to get launched an online literary journal called Sea to Sky Review. I thought I could feature Patreon poems on the Review as well.
I read someone once that most poetry is bought and read by other poets. So I’m thinking, if I offer something of interest to other poets, my Patreon page might be successful!
If this interest anyone you know, here's the link to my patreon site
